Idritza Apolonia – Polita – was born in Panama, Republic of Panama on
December 6 during the year of prosperity, beauty, art, goodness,
happiness and giving. Currently, she resides in the Space City,
Houston, TX, which gives a lot of love to her and her family.
She began to draw and paint when she was just a child. It was her
mother who would give her the blank pieces of paper and coloring
pencils for her to paint and draw. It was to entertain her since according
to her mother, Leonor, she was very restless. Polita would entertain her
classmates with her illustrated stories. Creativity is definitely something
that runs through her veins and those of her family. She has a sister
that is a writer, another sister who made beautiful bedspreads and two
very talented brothers with drawing abilities.
At a very young age, she won an honorific mention award, second place
in a competition to create a poster for the Catholic Church’s campaign
titled “The family that prays together stays together”. It was a campaign
to pray the rosary that took place in 1964-65 in Panama.
Art was always her passion; she took watercolor classes with Panamanian architect and painter Ramón Guardia, a well known watercolorist. She stays up to date with a group of painters from around the world who share their accomplishments and ways in which to better their techniques.
In her projects is a collection of paintings that can help every being to think that our environment is beautiful. The colors that she offers make us vibrate even higher. She definitely puts into practice what she professes: to keep herself as positive as she can. This project of positivism is enclosed in her permanent collection called “Casa Sana” (Healthy House).
In her thoughts is the creation of positive art. She is a firm believer in the Law of Attraction. She believes that one should surround oneself with things that make us feel good. “We have come to be happy and one should always focus on that from the time one starts the day until it ends.” She professes and believes that painting is something that comes from the soul. Therefore she always blesses her brushes, pastels, acrylics, canvases and papers so that the best work is made and that it shines and attracts the best for the homes to which it is invited. Several of her paintings are in various parts of the world including South and North America and Europe.
She gives us colorful work, the happiness that she has inside and this generous message: that the Light is inside, outside and above and that it surrounds us constantly.
“Be my guests of honor. My family and I thank you for your visit and may the Light reign among us forever.”
“I am the Light; I am all the love in me and in you.”
